Art in Schools
When my children were younger, I had worked with Bucks Artist in Residence, an amazing group that put working artists in the classrooms through specialized grants. I created lasting installations (sometimes with a whole school, other times with a specific grade) that are created using reclaimed materials.
Art in Healing Spaces
Penn State, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center - Hershey, PA | In the entrance to the cancer in-patient waiting area in Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and College of Medicine, five original mixed media pieces depicting images and feelings of the area greet patients as they come in. Images of farmland, fields, the Hershey Towers, and other photos taken by me are sewn together with local ephemera. These pieces were created with funding from the Greater Harrisburg Arts Legacy Fund and the Pennsylvania a Council on the Arts.
Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell, NJ | This "Urban Landscape" was created from all reused acrylic business signs and mistake paint. It is 70-feet long and is in the pediatric corridor of Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell. This amazing hospital is filled with art and opened November 2011.
Art as Mission
Each summer when my daughter was in high school, she and I had gone on a mission trip to Freeport, Grand Bahama, with a local church, Karazim Ministries and a large group of teenagers. We worked in a village building and rebuilding homes. I could not help but see possibility all around me. What a joy it was for me to truly turn “trash” into art with these teens.

Salvaged Windows, Painting on Glass
Reverse glass painting on old windows was how art began to unfold for me. I love the look of the creamy color against the glass. Every once in a while I still paint on an old window waiting for me at my studio.
