perfect timing
I was not in my studio much this week. I spent days (yes, days) figuring out Illustrator in my home office.
Long, glued to your chair, wearing pajamas kind of days.
So yesterday in the late afternoon I went to my studio just to play with paint and paper.
And a package was waiting for me.
The handwriting was lovely. I did not recognize the name.

bump in the night
We have slept in this lovely bed for 12 years.
See the bed post on the right? There were two just like it on the end of the bed also. A week ago we took them off.
For all those years, we would get up in the middle of the night and put our hands out to feel for the end posts so we wouldn't walk into them.
We still instinctively feel for them in the darkness a week later, remembering that metal head first hurts.
The room looks so much bigger now. Uncluttered. And safer.

lost then found
The holidays were pretty close to perfect for me this year. Lots of togetherness but lots of alone time too. To read. To sleep. To reorganize my home, my studio and my thoughts.
My giving this year was very in sync with my philosophy to creatively reuse. I gave carefully chosen vintage books to friends and family.

Christmas treasure hunt
This morning I am putting on layers and crossing the river over to Lambertville, NJ. Again.
My creativity is now totally focused on giving, and I am so ready to search and find treasures that I can repurpose into something meaningful for someone I love.
