A Fresh Air Mending & Slow Stitching Circle, Monday, December 15th 12:30p-3p
Join me Monday, December, 15th 12:30p-3p for a fall afternoon full of community, repairs and fresh air at my studio, 949a Mirror Lake Road, Yardley, PA
Bring a favorite shirt & change all the buttons. Add a colorful patch onto a beloved piece of well worn clothing. Maybe sew some sentimental cloth items (ex: children's clothing) beneath something you wear often, like a skirt. Or bring along a bit of knitting or crochet work, dog toy in need of repair, some embroidery. Or discuss an idea you have on up-cycling a piece of clothing. Collectively the group is a think tank of ideas and solutions. Bring needlepoint, art journals, canvas....anything you would take a needle and thread to.
Above all, it just feels so good to sit together with our hearts full and our hands busy. In these few hours, we turn off our thinking mind and allow our hearts and hands to lead.
I will have plenty of fabric and thread for us to choose from as we mend and add to our favorite clothing in community. I will be sharing own special stash of cyanotype patches and special ribbons with you.
All this as we listen to my favorite play list and there will be coffee, tea, and water and plenty of inspiration.
I will be happy to share stitching ideas with you.
I believe with all my heart that it is the tangles and repairs that keep us all close....and that repairs need repairs.
Slow stitching is one of my favorite ways to relax and express myself.
What to bring:
Clothing or fabric to mend or rethink and an open heart.
Included:
-And assortment of patches and fabric.
-Colorful threads and needles to use.
-Ribbons and old lace.
-Coffee, tea, water.
-Inspiration, encouragement and help if needed.
Ps. Excited to share the magic of my studio with you!
Note: these amazing pictures come from my eye and the eye of these talented artists & photographers: Cindy Fatsis, & Elizabeth Wade. The "soil, food, people" jeans belong to yoga goddess Sue Elkind...and the patched bucket hat is the work of the lovely Melinda Dyer Martin. xo. Magic happens in these circles.
