Stitch, Ink, & LIFT, Monday, December 2nd, 12n to 5:30p

Regular price $30.00 $0.00

Join me & my daughter Paige, Monday, December 2nd from 12n to 5:30 (you can breeze in & out) for an afternoon of community, thread and some ink at my studio, 949a Mirror Lake Road, Yardley, PA

Come gather at my studio in community, fabric, ink and possibility. Paige is a tattoo artist whose work speaks for itself. Paige has her own shop but on this day will be doing a pop-up at my studio

Message me at colleen@colleenattara.com to set up a tattoo appointment (appointments are limited!) at my studio with Paige that day for:

A safety pin, an empowered word, or both, like I have on my arm.

I have been wearing safely pins on my clothes for years…and also on my wrist.

*It is a symbol of unity with all those who are marginalized and the safety pin actually has a Nazi reference as well; during the Nazi occupation, the Dutch wore secret safety pins to symbolize unity against the Nazis.*

Each tattoo is $150.  *You will pay Paige directly*.  And the $30 you pay here for the stitching circle will be credited towards your tattoo

After my "empty suitcase" journey to London, I grabbed hold of my "shine" and I cannot wait to share a bit of that with you in my cozy studio. *Pure joy is a powerful form of resistance*.

Bring any clothing you would like to mend on or embellish. Needles, thread, ideas, and fabric will be provided...plus coffee and tea. xo.

What to bring:

Bring a favorite shirt & change all the buttons. Add a colorful patch onto a beloved piece of well worn clothing. Maybe sew some sentimental cloth items (ex: children's clothing)  beneath something you wear often, like a skirt. Or bring along a bit of knitting or crochet work,  dog toy in need of repair, some embroidery. Or discuss an idea you have on up-cycling a piece of clothing. Collectively the group is a think tank of ideas and solutions.

Above all, it just feels so good to sit together with our hearts full and our hands busy.  In these few hours, we turn off our thinking mind and allow our hearts and hands to lead.

All this as we listen to my favorite play list and there will be coffee, tea, and water and plenty of inspiration.

I will be happy to share stitching ideas with you.

I believe with all my heart that it is the tangles and repairs that keep us all close....and that repairs need repairs.

Slow stitching is one of my favorite ways to relax and express myself.

What to bring:

Clothing or fabric to mend and an open heart.

Included:

-And assortment of patches and fabric.

-Colorful threads and needles to use.

-Ribbons and old lace.

-Coffee, tea, water.

-Inspiration, encouragement and help if needed.

Ps. Excited to share the magic of my studio with you!

Note: these amazing pictures come from my eye and the eye of these talented artists & photographers: Cindy Fatsis, & Elizabeth Wade. The "soil, food, people" jeans belong to yoga goddess Sue Elkind...and the patched bucket hat is the work of the lovely Melinda Dyer Martin. xo.  Magic happens in these circles.

These questions sometimes arise...

What unit of measure do you use?

All product measurements are listed in inches.

What is the "small word add-on?"

The small word add-on allows you to add an additional small (6-8") cardboard or plastic word to your order. The small word will be the same as your large word.

How do I hang the salvaged words?

I use the little foam squares from AC Moore or similar craft stores. They fit perfectly behind the words and also add a great dimension. They do not harm paint. In my studio I have some that have been up for years.

I also love to lean the words...over a doorway, a window, or on top of a picture. The dinner table is a favorite place of mine. I use clear squares if I hang the words on a mirror.

Can salvaged words be outside?

The salvaged plexi words can, yes! And they float in water. The last little words are salvaged cardboard and should be kept indoors.

I want a word I do not see on your website. Can you make it for me?

Oh yes. You can order that right here.

I have a phrase I would like made. Can you do that?

Happily. Just email me directly.

When will I receive my order?

Prints will ship out in 1 to 2 business days. Hand-scripted words ship within a week. Custom orders (e.g., Your Word and Your Name) will be processed in 1 - 3 weeks.

Shipping rates and times are based on package weight and destination...you'll be able to view and select the best option for your purchase at checkout.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes...a whole bunch. Please expect delivery to take longer than noted above as packages will be making their way across mountains, sand, or sea.

What about refunds and exchanges?

If an order arrived damaged due to shipping, please contact me.

Where can I see/buy your work in person?

You’ll find my environmentally friendly artwork in healing spaces and private collections across North America and Europe, as well as in galleries and shops in the Northeast United States. Take a peek at my portfolio, browse the shop, join me at an event, and share in my creative process.

I'd love to carry your work...

If you are interested in placing a wholesale order, please reach out to me for pricing and minimums.

I still have a question...

Please contact me with any questions, concerns or general delight.
